Harding Law Firm - Tuesday, December 09, 2014

Winter is a great time to get outside and enjoy outdoor sports like skiing, skating, snowboarding and sledding. Plus, travelling to outdoor activities in the winter means being safe on the road.

There are inherent risks when it comes to elements like snow and ice, and it’s vital to. If you find yourself injured and think you may need to speak with an attorney, call us or email us . In the meantime, we have 7 safety tips for you and for you to share with family and friends.

Here are 7 Outdoor Safety Tips for This Winter:

  1. Wear appropriate headgear as soon as you step onto the slopes or ice.
  2. Make sure helmets and all your sports equipment fit properly and are in good condition.
  3. Dress for the outdoors. Wear layers so you can change what you’re wearing as you warm up. Don’t forget gloves or mittens.
  4. Follow all posted signs. Stay off ice that hasn’t been approved for skating or ski trails that aren’t open for use.
  5. If you’re a novice on the slopes, take beginner’s lessons. Snowboarding and skiing may look effortless, but you’ll need to know how to slow down and stop, at a minimum.
  6. Be aware of weather and road conditions. If the weather authority in your neck of the woods encourages staying off the road, it’s a good idea to follow that advice.
  7. If you’ve been injured, do contact a personal injury attorney, like us here at Harding Law.

We encourage everyone to get outside this winter and enjoy the season, but always be safe. Happy holidays from all of here at the Harding Law Firm
